Notice is hereby given that Public Local Inquiries in connection with the Scheme and Orders mentioned below will be held by an Inspector appointed for this purpose by the Secretary of State for Transport beginning at 10.00am on Tuesday 8 November 2022 at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa, Weston Road, Haslington, Crewe CW1 6UZ to hear representations from remaining objectors (as defined in the Compulsory Purchase (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 2007) and statutory objectors (as defined in the Highways (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 1994), from any other persons having an interest in the land the subject of the Compulsory Purchase Order and, at the Inspector's discretion, to hear representations from any other persons who may desire to appear and be heard. THE SCHEME and ORDERS have been made by Cheshire East Council under the above-mentioned Acts and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation and are:

The Cheshire East Council (A533 Middlewich Eastern Bypass - Trent And Mersey Canal Bridge) Scheme 2022.

This is a Scheme under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980.

(2)
The Cheshire East Council (A533 Middlewich Eastern Bypass) (Classified
Road) (Side Roads) Order 2022. This is an Order under Sections 8, 14 and 125 of the Highways Act 1980.

(3)
The Cheshire East Council (A533 Middlewich Eastern Bypass) Compulsory
Purchase Order 2022.

This is an Order under Sections 8, 239, 240, 246, 250 and 260 of the Highways Act 1980.
THE SCHEME and ORDERS relate to proposals to construct a highway to the east of Middlewich, known as the Middlewich Eastern Bypass, which will provide a new route between the A54 Holmes Chapel Road and the A533 Booth Lane to the south of Middlewich. COPIES of the Scheme and Orders and of the plans referred to therein have been deposited and may be seen free of charge at:

 Crewe Library, Lifestyle Centre, Moss Square, Crewe CW1 2BB between the hours of 9:30-12:30 and 14:00-17:30 Monday to Friday and from 9:30-13:00 on Saturday;

* Middlewich Library, 22 Lewin Street, Middlewich CW10 9AS between the hours of 9:30-13:00 and 14:00-16:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 9:30-12:30 on Saturday;

* Sandbach Library, The Commons, Sandbach CW11 1FJ between the hours of 9:00-16:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 09:00-18:30 Wednesday and from 9:00-12:30 on Saturday;

* Northwich Library, Wilton Street, Northwich CW9 5DR between the hours of 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00 Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 14:00-18:00 Thursday and 10:00-13:00 on Saturday;

and can also be viewed on the Council's website at

The Secretary Of State For Transport

hereby directs that any person who intends to submit at the Inquiries that any highway or proposed highway to which the Scheme and Orders, or any of them, relate should follow an alternative route, or that, instead of improving, diverting or altering a highway to which the Scheme and Orders, or any of them, relate, a new highway should be constructed on a particular route, shall send to her at Department for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or

nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk

, not later than 18 October 2022, sufficient information about the alternative route or the route of the new highway, as the case may be, to enable it to be identified. Failure to comply with this direction will entitle the Secretary of State and the person holding the Inquiries to disregard so much of any objection as consists of such a submission.
