NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council, as highway authority, has made an Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of the footpaths and footway ("the Footpaths") stated in the Schedule below.

Schedule

Part of Public Footpath ZNA 17, from its junction with Shortwood Road, at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) ST 84256/99339, extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 430 metres to its junction with Public Footpath ZNA 21 at OSGR ST 84665/99399, and shown on the Order Map by a bold solid black line marked A to B.

The closure is necessary to safeguard the public whilst works take place to install a new sewer. The Order came into force on the 8th August 2022 and it was anticipated that the above said Footpaths would close on that day until 19th August 2022. However, it was necessary to change the dates of the works, so that the said above Footpaths were closed between the 30th August 2022 until the 9th September 2022. The Order permits the closure of the Footpaths for up to six months from the date of the initial closure. It is now expected that the Footpaths will be closed until the 13th September 2022 as works were delayed due to heavy rainfall. After the six months, if the closure is still required it will be necessary to apply to the Secretary of State for an extension of time.

Proposed alternative route:
as signed on site. Emergency access will be maintained for the duration of the works. However, pedestrian access to adjacent properties will not be maintained as the excavation will be for the entire width of the path. For Assistant Director of Legal Services. Please contact: 08000 514 514.
