Temporary Traffic Restrictions
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 15th day of September 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1) & (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (3) & (4).
(1) Hessay level crossing. Hessay
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Hessay Level Crossing on New Road, Hessay (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2200hrs on Monday, 19 September 2022 and ending at 0630hrs on Tuesday, 20 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(2) Swann Street Ft Cygnet Street. York
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Swann Street & Cygnet Street, York between the projected northeastern boundary of property No. 56 Swann Street and the projected northwestern boundary of property No. 15 Cygnet Street (closed road) during the period when roadway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 19 September 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Friday, 07 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, all 'on-street' parking places situated on the north-western side of Swann Street, York between the projected north-eastern boundary of property No. 56 Swann Street and the projected north-eastern boundary of property No. 48 Swann Street (suspension area) will be subject to suspension. An alternative route for diverted cyclists and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(3) King Street. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on King Street, York between its junction with Clifford Street and a location 40 metres south west of said junction (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Tuesday, 27 September 2022 and ending at 1530hrs on Tuesday, 27 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in King's Staith and King Street are suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) Ascot Way. York
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Ascot Way, York between the projected eastern boundary of property No 72 and the projected south-western boundary of property No 81 (closed road) during the period when water mains works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0930hrs on Monday, 26 September 2022 and ending at 1530hrs on Friday, 30 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
