ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (WATLING ST, AFFETSIDE, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
Watling St, Affetside - from adjacent to No.94 for a distance of 50 m north of No.94 & from the Congregational Church (adjacent to No.38) to Nos. 26/28
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate the introduction a of a road safety scheme.
The alternative route will be via A676 Bradshaw Rd, Lea Gate & Tottington Rd & & vice-versa
The Order comes into operation on Monday 19 September 2022 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 3 months with closures of approximately 10 days.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (Footpath 19, Tottington) EXTENSION TO TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, having made an Order on 18/03/21 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has been directed by the Secretary of State for Transport that the order shall continue in force as follows:
To prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along Footpath 19, Tottington, to prevent any danger to users as maintenance works have not yet been completed. Closure until 18/03/23 or until completion of works, if earlier. Note that there is no alternative route. Dated 15/09/22
