A34 Trunk Road (Lay-By, Near Botley) Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A34 Trunk Road in the County of Oxfordshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to provide a safety/traffic exclusion zone for works proposed to be executed on an adjoining side road (Westminster Way). The effect of the Order is to authorise the 24-hour closure of the lay-by adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A34 located between points point 601 metres and 820 metres northwest of the centreline of the South Hinksey overbridge, as part of an inside lane closure.

This measure is in the interests of road safety while contractors working on behalf of Bridges undertake resurfacing work for Oxford County Council on adjacent roads. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 3 days starting on or after Monday 26th September 2022.

The Order will come into force on 23rd September 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

The temporary closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when it is in operation during the works period.
