Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Monday 12 September 2022 and Friday 21 October 2022 the following road will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately one to four weeks within this period, or when the works have been completed, whichever is sooner; that no vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads, and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road, where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerblng works. In some cases, It may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. The closures will not apply to emergency service vehicles engaged in official duties. The order is required in connection with the Tour of Britain 2022 Event. The closures will be phased, and the phase, times and dates will be signposted locally. The provisions of this Order shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 or as directed by a Police Constable in uniform.
