THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (ALBERT CLOSE, WHITEFIELD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council propose to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:-NO WAITING AT ANY TIME
Albert Close, Whitefield - northerly side, from a point 187.5 east of the easterly kerbline of Moss Lane for a distance of 95 metres in an easterly direction. Details of the proposals are in the draft Order (including the exemptions contained within them) with plans showing the roads and areas affected and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Orders. Copies of these may be requested by email (due to Covidl9 changes to standard procedures) by emailing

All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be made in writing and sent to 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury BL9 0EJ or by email to traffic@burv.gov.uk quoting reference TM2/20/463 by 30/09/22.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (WATLING STREET, AFFETSDDE, BURY) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-Watling St, Affetside from No. 94 for a distance of 50 n of No.94 & from the Congregational Church (adjacent to No.38) to Nos.26/28
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-Watling St, Affetside from No. 94 for a distance of 50 n of No.94 & from the Congregational Church (adjacent to No.38) to Nos.26/28
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate the introduction of a road safety scheme.
The alternative route will be via A676 Bradshaw Rd, Lea Gate & Tottington Rd & vice-versa.
The proposed Order will come into operation on Monday 19 September 2022 and shall remain in force for a period of up to 6 months, although the anticipated duration of the works is 3 months with road closures of approximately 10 days. Dated 08 September 2022 Council Solicitor
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 WDLDLDJE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH NUMBER 229 RAMSBOTTOM) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2022 The above Order was made on 26 August 2022 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and S53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed the effect of the Order will be to divert the footpath described in Schedule Part 1 to this notice as shown on the Order map and modify the Definitive Map and Statement for Bury.
The above Order was made on 26 August 2022 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and S53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If confirmed the effect of the Order will be to divert the footpath described in Schedule Part 1 to this notice as shown on the Order map and modify the Definitive Map and Statement for Bury.
A copy of the Order and map may be seen free of charge at the reception desk at Town Hall, Knowsley St Bury BL9 0SW from 9am - 4.30pm weekdays and one copy will be provided upon request.
Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Head of Engineering, Public Rights of Way, at 3 Knowsley Place Bury BL9 0EJ or by email to

by 7 October 2022. Please state the grounds on which it is made. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order or if any so made are withdrawn the Council may instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
Schedule Part 1- Eastwards from Point A on the Order Plan (Grid Reference SD8041 1524) along a surfaced access road to Bast House Cottage and then through Bast House Farm. Then across two stiles on an unsurfaced path to Point C on the Order Plan (Grid Reference SD8053 1521) at the junction with Public Footpath Number 228 Ramsbottom and Number 2 Bury. The section of path is 123m in length. Schedule Part 2 - South east from the existing section of Public Footpath Number 229 Ramsbottom at Point A on the Order Plan (Grid Reference SD 8041 1524) along a compacted gravel hard standing access road then a 2m wide crushed stone path, turning north east at a pedestrian gate, then south east to join the end of Public Footpath Number 228 Ramsbottom at Point B on the Order Plan (Grid reference SD80471516). The path is 114m in length. Dated 8th September 2022
