Burnopfield, Temporary Footpath Closure due to Bridge Repairs

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2022
The Council on 31/8/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on 60 metres of Footpath number 196 that extends north easterly from road B6314 New Road to the junction with Footpath number 204 off Busty Bank, Burnopfield, and also a 30 metre length of permissive path from B6314 New Road to Footpath number 196 by reason of likelihood of danger to the public and to permit bridge inspection and repair works to be undertaken.
Alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the western side of the closure south easterly via the associated footway of New Road on B6310 then north on Sheephill to Footpath Number 196 to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months.
The Order will commence on 12/9/22 and is anticipated to be required for a period of 6 months or until the bridge is safe to reopen, whichever is the sooner. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
