Hyde Lane, Temporary Restrictions to facilitate Construction Works

TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS Hyde Lane, SW11
1. The Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate construction works in Hyde Lane, SW11 ("the works") they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary restrictions as set out in paragraph 2 below.
2. Whilst the works take place,
(a) There will be a closure of 23m x 1.6m of footway and 23m x 2m of carriageway on the southern side of Hyde Lane at a point 6.8m west of the bell-mouth of the Hyde Lane/A3220 Battersea Bridge Road priority junction, Wandsworth, to create a pit lane to enable the loading and unloading of construction vehicles;
(b) There will be a re-siting of one car club bay from the northern side of the carriageway of Hyde Lane approximately 7m west of the bell-mouth of the Hyde Lane/A3220 Battersea Bridge Road priority junction, to a location on the southern side of the carriageway on Hyde Lane approximately 27m west of this junction;
(c) There will be reduction in width of 2 x disabled vehicular parking bays on the northern side of the carriageway on Hyde Lane, approximately 14m west of the A3225 Battersea Bridge Road/Hyde Lane priority bell-mouth junction, from their current width of 3m
to 2m to allow a safe width for vehicles moving along the mainline carriageway of Hyde Lane while vehicles are parked on its northern side and the above-mentioned pit lane is in place on its southern side to allow a safe carriageway width for large vehicles of 3.3m.
3. The Order shall come into effect on 9 September 2022, and the works are expected to be completed by 31 January 2024.
4. The Order will come into effect on 9 September 2022 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months. The works are anticipated to be complete as indicated in paragraph 3. The temporary road closure would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of traffic signs.
5. Nothing in the Order applies to:
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
