THE MARINE AND COASTAL ACCESS ACT 2009 AND THE MARINE WORKS (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) REGULATIONS 2007 (as amended) APPLICATION FOR MARINE LICENCES
Notice is hereby given that Britannia Aggregates Ltd, Tarmac Marine Dredging Ltd, and CEMEX UK Marine Ltd are applying to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) to undertake a regulated activity under Part 4 of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009
The applications are for marine licences to dredge marine aggregates from Areas 508, 509 and 510 in the Outer Thames Estuary. The applicants propose to extract a total of 32,250,000 tonnes of aggregate over a period of 15 years, with a maximum total single year extraction of 4,300,000 tonnes. The proposed areas of extraction are located between 17 and 29km off the east coast. The limits of the extraction area are defined by the following co-ordinates:
