A303 Trunk Road Popham, Temporary Traffic Restrictions

A303 TRUNK ROAD (POPHAM) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A303 Trunk Road in the County of Hampshire, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure and weekend closure of -
1. the link road connecting to the London-bound carriageway of the M3 from the eastbound carriageway of the A303 at Popham Interchange between the exit slip (leading to the A30) and the merge with the main M3 carriageway; and
2. the link road connecting from the coastbound carriageway of the M3 to the westbound carriageway of the A303 at Popham Interchange between the diverge from the main M3 carriageway and the slip road (leading from the A30).

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge, carriageway and all associated works. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 2 weeks starting on or after Friday 9th September 2022. The overnight closures will take place between 21:00 and 06:00 (maximum period). The full weekend closures will take place between 21:00 on Fridays and 06:00 on Mondays. The Order will come into force on 8th September 2022 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using either the M3 and the A34 or the A30 depending on the closure in force. The temporary closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
