Dorset, Various Temporary Parking Restrictions and Road Closures

Temporary Parking Restriction,
Old Castle Road, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 2 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 October 2022.

This Order is to enable North Fossil on behalf of Dorset Council to continue carrying out works due to safety concerns associated with a landslip and traffic management.

The effect of this Order is as follows:
[1] To impose a temporary parking restriction from approximately 62c Old Castle Road to a location approximately opposite 66 Old Castle Road, a distance of approximately 60 metres.

Temporary Closure of Dinahs
Hollow, Melbury Abbas
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along DINAHS HOLLOW, MELBURY ABBAS, from the entrance of Grove Farm House (in both directions), a distance of approximately 450 metres from this point. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23rd September 2022.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out ecological, environmental, tree, and topographical survey work.

The alternative route for diverted traffic will be via; Spread Eagle Hill - Higher Shaftesbury Road - A350 - B3081.

Temporary Closure of Sandpit Lane, Compton Abbas
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along SANDPIT LANE, COMPTON ABBAS between the junctions of Chapel Hill and High street (in both directions), a distance of approximately 160 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 26 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 9 October 2022

This Order will enable Rachel Titt, safe access to install a new dropped curb, lay new drainage and clear access to her property.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Chapel Hill -High Street

Temporary Closure of Chafeys Avenue, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHAFEYS AVENUE, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Radipole Lane and The Rise, a distance of approximately 25 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 5 October 2022.

This Order will enable Cara Construction, safe access to carry out works associated with drainage connections.

An alternative route will be signed using: The Rise - Field Barn Drive - Radipole Lane.

Temporary Closure of Icen Lane, Bincombe
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ICEN LANE, BINCOMBE approximately 277 metres east of The Willows, a distance of approximately 150 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 September 2022.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out repairs to culvert. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of St Thomas Street, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along TOWN BRIDGE, ST THOMAS STREET, WEYMOUTH, between its junction with Lower St Edmund Street and its junction with Trinity Road, a distance of approximately 80 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 26 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 November 2022.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out weld repairs to bridge deck.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
