Temporary Closure of Shore Road, Swanage

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Shore Road, Swanage from outside Shore House to outside Ocean Bay, Ulwell Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 80 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 3rd October 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th October 2022. The road closure will be in operation 24 hours a day until completion. This Order will enable Wessex Water to replace the gattic covers within the carriageway.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using Ulwell Road, Seaward Road, De Moulham Road, Victoria Avenue and vice versa.
