The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders


Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -


The Isle of Wight Council (Forelands Field Road, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Tuesday 6 September 2022 until 1800 hours on Friday 23 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Forelands Field Road, between its junctions with house No. 5 and the end of the highway. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Frampton Way, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Friday 2 September 2022 until 1800 hours on Friday 9 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Frampton Way, for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Vernon Square, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 5 September 2022 until 1830 hours on Friday 23 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Vernon Square, for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Ward Road, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Thursday 8 September 2022 until 1830 hours on Thursday 6 October 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Ward Road, for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Shorwell, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours from Saturday 03 September 2022 until 1800 hours on Sunday 04 September 2022, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, a one-way restriction will be introduced along a) Corve Hill for its entire length in a south-west direction; b) Park Lane for its entire length in a south to north direction; c) Pound Lane for its entire length in a north-west direction; d) Wolverton Lane between its junctions with Doctors Lane and Pound Lane in a south-west direction. The restriction is required for safety during Wolverton Garden Fair. The restriction will be signposted locally.

The Isle of Wight Council (Freshwater Bridleway 61, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, for one shift, between Monday 05 September 2022 and Wednesday 07 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall proceed along Freshwater Bridleway 61 between its junctions with Afton Road and The Causeway.
The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footway repair works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Steephill Path, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, on each day, between Monday 05 September 2022 and Friday 09 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall proceed along Steephill Path for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during step painting works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Little Whitehouse Road, Calbourne, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

The Isle of Wight Council (Appley Steps, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, on each day, between Monday 05 September 2022 and Friday 09 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall proceed along Appley Steps for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Staplers Road, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0930 hours and 1530 hours, for one shift, on Tuesday 06 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Staplers Road between its junctions with Blacklands Lane and Briddlesford Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during arboriculture works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Bathingbourne Lane, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, for one shift, between Tuesday 06 September 2022 and Thursday 08 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bathingbourne Lane for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Brading Down Road, Brading, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0930 hours and 1530 hours, for one shift, on Wednesday 07 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Brading Down Road for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians, Cyclists and Equestrians) Order No 3 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0930 hours and 1530 hours, for one shift, between Wednesday 07 September 2022 and Friday 09 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any cyclist, pedestrian, or equestrian along Cycle Track from Sandown to Newport between its junctions with Langbridge and Main Road Alverstone. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during cycle track repair works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that

between Friday 2 September 2022 and Friday 14 October 2022 the following road will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately two weeks within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of footway resurfacing works to be completed. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads, and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road, where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences.

The Isle of Wight Council (Simeon Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2022

– Simeon Street for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footway resurfacing works.
The Isle of Wight Council (Cornwall Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 2 2022 – Cornwall Street, between its junctions with The Strand and Simeon Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footway resurfacing works.

The Isle of Wight Council (North Walk, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0700 hours from Saturday 03 September 2022 until 1800 hours on Sunday 04 September 2022, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along North Walk, between its junctions with Esplanade and Canoe Lake Road. The closure is required for safety during the Classic Car Show. The diversion will be signposted locally.

The Isle of Wight Council (Canoe Lake Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0700 hours from Saturday 03 September 2022 until 1800 hours on Sunday 04 September 2022, or when the event has finished, whichever is the sooner a) the one-way restriction will be revoked along Canoe Lake Road between Esplanade and North Walk; b) a ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ parking restriction will be introduced along Canoe Lake Road, on the south side, between Esplanade and North Walk. No person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to wait along Canoe Lake Road between its junctions with Esplanade and Canoe Lake Road. These restrictions are required for safety during the Classic Car Show.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1800 hours and 2359 hours, on Saturday 03 September 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,
A) No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) Esplanade on both sides for its entire length; 2) Dover Street for its entire length; 3) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street; 4) Star Street for its entire length; 5) High Street from its junction with Star Street and St Thomas Square; 6) St Thomas Square for its entire length; 7) Union Street for its entire length; 8) North Walk for its entire length.
B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait on both sides along 1) Dover Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Park Road; 2) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street.
The closure and restriction are required for safety during Ryde Illuminated Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.
