Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 15th day of August 2022 in respect of the location numbered (1) and made an Order on the 25* day of August 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (2), (3), (4) & (5). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (6), (7), (8), (9), (10), (11) & (12).

This Order continues in force The Nether Poppleton (Millfield Lane) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) (Continuation) Order 2022 (original Order). The effect of which is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Millfield Lane Level Crossing, Nether Poppleton between locations 20 metres either side of said level crossing (closed road) during the period commencing at 0801 hours on the Monday, 15 August 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on the Wednesday, 24 August 2022 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period. Vehicular access to Millfield Lane has been arranged via the ANPR camera-controlled section in Low Poppleton Lane, without penalty, for the duration of the works period only. Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the level crossing during the daytime with the assistance of on-site marshals only.

(2) York Road Level Crossing. Strensall

This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Strensall No. 1 Level Crossing on York Road, Strensall (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2330hrs on Friday, 26 August 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Saturday, 27 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(3) York Road Level Crossing. Strensal

This Oad) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2300hrs on Monday, 29 August 2022 and ending at 0600hrs on Thursday, 01 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 2300hrs and 0600hrs each night. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(4) Burlands Lane. Poppleton

This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burlands Lane, Poppleton between its junction with the A59 and the entrance drive to Prospect Farm (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Tuesday, 30 August 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Thursday, 01 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day.

(5) Lady Road. York

This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Lady Road, York between its junction with Cromer Street and the projected south-western boundary of property No.
11 (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0730hrs on Friday, 02 September 2022 and ending at 1730hrs on Friday, 02 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(6) Newgate. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Newgate, York between the projected north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Property No 47, The Shambles (closed road) during the period when building maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 05 September 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Monday, 03 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(7) Burton Stone Lane. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Burton Stone Lane, York between its junctions with Crichton Avenue and Clifton (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 05 September 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 09 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the works will only take place between 0900hrs and 1600hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(8) Cinder Lane Prow 55/131/10. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Cinder Lane - Public Right Of Way No. 55/131/10, York between its junction with Leeman Road and a location 390 metres southwest of said junction (closed footpath) during the period when York Central development works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 05 September 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Sunday, 05 March 2023 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and cyclists will be signed during the works period.

(9) Barbican Road. Paragon Street & Wellington Street. York

This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of footway on Barbican Road, Paragon Street & Wellington Street, York: (i) on the western side of Barbican Road between the junctions with Kent Street and Paragon Street and (ii) on the eastern and southern side of Barbican Road between the projected southern boundary of Property No. 21 and the projected north-eastern boundary of property No. 12 and (iii) on the southern side of Paragon Street between its junction with Barbican Road and a location 40 metres west of said junction and (iv) on the northern side of Paragon Street between the junction with Barbican Road and a location 50 metres west of said junction and (v) on both sides of Wellington Street between the junction with Barbican Road and a location 14 metres east of said junction (closed footways) during the period when traffic signal refurbishment works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0900hrs on Monday, 05 September 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 28 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.

(10) Footpath From Rear Of 1 To Rear Of 50 Grosvenor Terrace. York

This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Footpath From Rear Of 1 To Rear Of 50 Grosvenor Terrace, York between the projected north-eastern boundaries of property No.s 18 & 20 Grosvenor Terrace (closed footpath) during the period when sewer repair works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 05 September 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Monday, 12 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.

(11) Thompson Drive. Strensall

This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Thompson Drive, Strensall between its junctions with Brecks Lane and Heath Ride (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Friday, 09 September 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Friday, 09 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(12) Vesper Walk. York

This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Vesper Walk, York (closed road) during the period when roadway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Friday, 09 September 2022 and ending at 1600hrs on Monday,
12 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 0800hrs and 1600hrs each day.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
