Devonshire Road, Experimental Change to Extend Road Closure to Traffic

EXPERIMENTAL CHANGE TO THE CLOSURE OF DEVONSHIRE ROAD N13 AT ITS JUNCTION
WITH GREEN LANES

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of The London Borough of Enfield (the Council) on 31 August 2022 made The Enfield (Prescribed Routes) (No. 15) Experimental Traffic Order 2022 under sections 9,10 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The general effect of the Order will be, on an experimental basis, to extend the closure of Devonshire Road N13 to traffic, except cycles, between its junction with Green Lanes and a point 2 metres south-east of a point in line with the common boundary of Nos. 399 and 399c Green Lanes.

3. Copies of the Order, which will come into operation on 8th September 2022, and will continue in operation for up to 18 months, and of the Council's statement of reasons for making the Order and other relevant documents can either be inspected at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX, Mondays to Fridays 9am - 5pm inclusive until the Order ceases to have effect, or viewed online at: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/roads-and-transport/traffic-management-orders/. Copies of relevant documents can also be obtained by emailing traffic@enfield.gov.uk or by writing to Traffic and Transportation (quoting reference TG52/1503 Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD.

4. The Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of a permanent Order made under sections 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation, within a period of six months beginning with the date on which the experimental Order came into force or, if the Order is varied by another Order or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force. Any such objection must be made in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to the Head of Traffic and Transportation, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex, EN1 3XD, or by e-mail to traffic@enfield.gov.uk, quoting the reference TG52/1503

5. Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
