Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council, has made the above mentioned Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 45, 46, 46A, 47, 49, 51 and 53 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order would be to amend the existing Traffic Regulation Orders so that Street parking arrangements proposed in the Borough of Watford (Watford) (Controlled Parking Zones) (Consolidation) Order 2018 (Sydney Road) (Amendment) (No. 9) Order 2020 are to be revised as follows to meet the current service road junction arrangements for Compass House and Seaborne House.

On the north side of Sydney Road:

* the existing residents permit parking bay will extend from 10 metres east from the north/east bend in Sydney Road to 30 metres west of the midpoint of the service road junction;

* the existing residents permit/pay & display bay will extend between 30 metres and 50 metres east of the midpoint of the service road junction;

* waiting will be prohibited at any time between 30 metres east and 30 metres west of the midpoint of the service road junction.

The Order shall come in to operation on Monday 5th September 2022 or on such respective dates afterwards that on the north side the works of signing and carriageway marking are completed.
A copy of the Order, together with the statement of reasons for making the Order and a plan showing the length of road to which the Order relates, can be viewed at the Customer Service Centre, Town Hall, Watford, WD17 3EZ during advertised Town Hall opening hours. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.
