Cartmel Fell, Temporary Prohibition of of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (C5047 Cartmel Fell And A5074 Winster) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria County Council to carry out trial hole investigation works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. C5047, Cartmel Fell, from a point approx. 45 metres north of its junction with the U5242, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 94m;

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5047, C5060, C5048 and C5029.
Duration: From 14 September 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref: SL22CCC/9/9).
2. A5074, Winster, from its junction with the U5324, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 123m;

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A5074,
A590 and A592.
Duration: From 15 September 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref: SL22CCC/9/11)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote are stated above.
The Order will come into operation on 14 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
