(Claypath & Gilesgate, Durham City) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Older under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 645 metres of Claypath and Gilesgate between the eastbound one-way slip road adjacent to Millennium Place and A690 Gilesgate roundabout, Durham. The works will be undertaken in three phases around either side of the Providence Row junction and the Bakehouse Lane junction to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the western side of the closure from Claypath onto A690 Leazes Bowl roundabout then easterly on A690 to Gilesgate roundabout then westerly on Gilesgate to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Older is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 12/9/22 and are anticipated to be completed in 2 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Dated: 25th August 2022
