(Medomsley Road back, Consett) (Temporary Road and Footway Closure and Prohibition of Right Turn) Order 2022

The Council on 19/8/22 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit and restrict all traffic from proceeding on Close to vehicular traffic - a 10 metre length of Medomsley Road at the side of numbers 43 and 41 (The Fountain) Prohibition of right turn - from Medomsley Road back onto Johns Street, Consett Close to pedestrian traffic - a 10 metre length of footway between 1 John Street and 48 Medomsley Road, and between 43-47 Medomsley Road, Consett to enable gas main renewal works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic locally via Medomsley Road, Hartington Street and Herbert Street back, and via Gibson Street, Store Street and John Street, and vice versa. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic a) from John Street southerly via John Street Square, north easterly on Trafalgar Street and northerly on Medomsley Road, and b) from Medomsley Road east on side Medomsley Road, north on Herbert Street back and west on Hartington Street; and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 30/8/22 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly. Dated: 25th August 2022
