1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Haringey on 19th August 2022 made the above mentioned Orders under sections 9, 10 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the experimental Orders will be to introduce:-School Street Zone SS24 - Highgate Junior School
(a) Timed pedestrian and cycle zones in which motor vehicles, except for those issued a permit would be prohibited from entering, during school term times, between the prescribed hours below and when the appropriate signs are on display:

Bishopswood Road N6, From the south eastern kerb line of Broadlands Road to its junction with Hampstead Lane.
Those eligible for permits include residents of 1-9 Bishopswood Road N6, 22 Hampstead Lane N6, Medical practitioners attending those residing in the zone, disabled badge holders who reside outside the zone but require essential access and school buses and vehicles used in the transport of children and adults with special access needs in relation to the schools within the zone. All vehicles will be allowed to exit the zone whilst it is in operation.
(b) No Loading at any Time on the following lengths of road:
Hampstead Lane N6 - NORTH SIDE: (i) from its junction with Bishopswood Road, west for 7.5 metres, (ii) from its junction with Bishopswood Road, east for 7.5 metres.
Bishopswood Road N6 - BOTH SIDES: from its junction with Hampstead Lane north for 9 metres. NORTH EAST SIDE: from the south eastern kerb line of Broadlands Road south east for 8 metres. SOUTH WEST SIDE: from a point 15 metres south east of the south eastern kerb line of Broadlands Road north west for 27 metres. NORTH SIDE: from the north western kerbline of Broadlands Road, west for 6.5 metres.
Broadlands Road N6 - SOUTH EAST SIDE: from the north eastern kerb line of Bishopswood Road north east for 8 metres. NORTH WEST SIDE: from the northern kerb line of Bishopswood Road north east for 11 metres.
The Haringey (Prescribed Routes) (No. 7) Experimental Order 2021 is hereby revoked. The Haringey (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 7) Experimental Order 2021 is hereby revoked insofar as it relates to Hampstead Lane, Bishopswood Road and Broadlands Road only.
Prescibed hours
Mon-Fri 08.00 - 09.15 and 15.00 - 16.30 during school term time
Note: this experimental proposal replaces the previous experimental School Street proposal advertised on 7" April 2021.
2. DATE OF OPERATION: The Orders will come into operation on 5th September 2022 and is due to last for a maximum of 18 months.
3. The Orders provide that in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the delegated authority of the London Borough of Haringey, or some person authorised in that behalf, may if it appears essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the Orders or any provision thereof.
4. The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely by means of permanent Orders made under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Any person may object to the making of the permanent Orders for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of six months beginning with the day on which the above mentioned Orders came into force or, if the Orders are varied by other Orders or modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the day on which the latest variation or modification came into force. Any such objection must be made in writing and must state the grounds on which it is made and be sent to Traffic Management Group, River Park House, 1' floor, 225, High Road, Wood Green, N22 8HQ or by email to
5. Copies of the Orders, of the Council's statement of reasons for making the Orders, together with plans showing the location and effect of the Orders may be either: inspected by appointment at the Reception Desk, Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, London N22 7TR; or viewed online at

; from the date of this Notice until the end of a period of six weeks from the date on the Orders are made, or the Council decides not to make the Orders.
6. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of its provisions on the grounds they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
