Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -


The Isle of Wight Council (Barfield, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 29 August 2022 until 1830 hours on Friday 16 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Barfield, for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Elliston Road, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

The Isle of Wight Council (Newport Road, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1930 hours and 2300 hours, on Friday 26 August 2022, for one shift, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Newport Road between its junctions with Merstone Lane and Chequers Inn Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Ventnor Footpath 14B, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order No 1 2022


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours on Monday 29 August 2022 and 2359 hours on Monday 19 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall proceed along Ventnor Footpath 14B for its entire length. The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time & Temporary Revocation of One-Way Restriction) Order No 3 2022


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1930 hours and 2300 hours, between Tuesday 30 August 2022 and Thursday 01 September 2022, for three shifts, or when the works has been completed, no person shall
A) no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along High Street between its junctions with Pyle Street and St James Street;
B) no person shall cause any vehicle to wait along High Street between its junctions with Pyle Street and St James Street;
C) the one way restriction will be revoked along the High Street between its junctions with Pyle Street and St James Street.
The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure and restrictions are required for safety during carriageway repair works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Sandown Road, Lake, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022

The Isle of Wight Council (Partlands Avenue, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2022

The Isle of Wight Council (Granville Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2022


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, for one shift, between Wednesday 31 August 2022 and Friday 02 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Granville Road, between its junctions with Victoria Road and Granville Road Bridge. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.
Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 26 August 2022 and Friday 7 October 2022 the following road will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately two weeks within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of footway resurfacing works to be completed. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads, and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road, where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences.




The Isle of Wight Council (Bonchurch Shute, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2022 – Bonchurch Shute for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footway resurfacing works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2022


Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1700 hours and 2230 hours, on Wednesday 31 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed or wait along
1) Culver Parade between its junctions with Fort Street and Avenue Road;
2) Esplanade for its entire length;
3) High Street for its entire length;
4) Beachfield Road between its junctions with Royal Crescent and High Street;
5) Royal Crescent for its entire length;
6) Melville Street between its junctions with Royal Crescent and Fitzroy Street;
7) Fitzroy Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Station Avenue;
8) Station Avenue between its junctions with Fitzroy Street and Albert Road;
9) Albert Road between its junctions with Station Avenue and Victoria Road;
10) Victoria Road between its junctions with Albert Road and High Street;
11) Avenue Slipway for its entire length;
12) Battery Slip Way for its entire length.


The closure and restriction are required for safety during Sandown’s Illuminated Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.


The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, St Helens, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2022


Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1700 hours and 2000 hours, on Monday 29 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed or wait along
1) St Michaels Road between its junctions with Upper Green Road and The Cut;
2) Upper Green Road between its junctions with St Michaels Road and Mill Road;
3) Mill Road between its junctions with Lower Green Road and Upper Green Road;
4) Lower Green Road between its junctions with Mill Road and Vine Road;
5) Vine Road for its entire length. The closure and restriction are required for safety during St Helen’s Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.


The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2022


Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1600 hours and 2200 hours, on Thursday 01 September 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,


A) No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along
1) Esplanade on both sides for its entire length;
2) Dover Street for its entire length;
3) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street;
4) Star Street for its entire length;
5) High Street from its junction with Star Street and St Thomas Square;
6) St Thomas Square for its entire length;
7) Union Street for its entire length.


B) No person shall cause any vehicle to wait on both sides along
1) Dover Street between its junctions with Melville Street and Park Road;
2) Park Road between its junctions with Dover Street and Star Street.


The closure and restriction are required for safety during Ryde Main Carnival. The alternative routes will be signposted locally.

The Isle of Wight Council (Chambers Drive, Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, for one shift, between Wednesday 24 August 2022 and Friday 26 August 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Chambers Drive for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.


The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Arreton & Newchurch, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2022


Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1000 hours and 1800 hours, on both days, on Saturday 20 August 2022 and Sunday 21 August 2022, or when the event has finished, a one-way restriction will be introduced as follows
a) Hale Common, Arreton, in north-westerly direction, between its junctions with Watery Lane, Newchurch and Winford Road, Newchurch;
b) Watery Lane, Newchurch, in an easterly direction, for its entire length;
c) Winford Road, Newchurch, in a southerly direction, between its junctions with Watery Lane and Hale Common, Arreton.

The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for safety during the Garlic Farm Festival event.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for a period between 1800 hours and 2359 hours, on Thursday 25 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner,

A) no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along, starting from,
1) Town Lane for its entire length;
2) South Street between its junctions with St James Street and Prospect Road;
3) Church Litten between its junctions with South Street and Marks and Spencer – Access Road;
4) St James Street
between its junctions with South Street and Trafalgar Road;
5) Trafalgar Road for its entire length;
6) Carisbrooke Road between its junctions with Trafalgar Road and High Street;
7) High Street between its junctions with Carisbrooke Road and Quay Street;
8) Quay Street for its entire length;
9) Sea Street between its junctions with Quay Street and Newport Quay;
10) The Quay for its entire length;
10) St James Street between its junction with Pyle Street and High Street;
11) Pyle Street between junctions with St James Street and Carisbrooke Road
.


B) no person shall cause any vehicle to wait along
1) Trafalgar Road for its entire length;
2)
Carisbrooke Road between its junctions with Trafalgar Road and High Street
.


This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Newport Illuminated Carnival Procession and Event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.
