Notice Of Further Information to Accompany an Environmental Statement

Chard Junction Quarry, Westford Park Farm, Thorncombe, Chard
Temporary planning  permission is sought for an extension to Chard Junction Quarry at Westford Park Farm for the winning and working of approximately 930,000 tonnes of sand and gravel with progressive restoration to agriculture and nature conservation, inclusive of a new internal haul road and the retention of the existing mineral processing facilities and silt lagoons for a period of seven years.

Additional information has been received to update the Environmental Statement as part of the above appeal, which is the subject of a forthcoming local public inquiry at The Guildhall, Fore Street, Chard, Somerset TA20 1PP opening at 10am on August 23, at which members of the public may attend and express their views. The original application (WD/D/19/000451) was refused by Dorset Council on 21 September 2021. Your comments must be received within 21 days of the date of this advert. All comments must quote the appeal reference. Any comments you submit to the Planning Inspectorate will be copied to the appellant and Dorset Council and will be considered by the Inspector when determining the appeal.
