Temporary Closure of Elsdons Lane, Monkton Wyld
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along ELSDONS LANE, MONKTON WYLD between A35 and a point approximately 95 metres to the north. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 04 September 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months. however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 18 October 2022. There may be times within the programme where the road can be reopened.
This Order will enable National Highways safe access to carry out safety works on the bell mouth junction.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Scotts Lane

Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order

Public Path Diversion Order 2022

On 5 August 2022 Dorset Council confirmed the above-named order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 as unopposed and the Council has certified that work has been carried out to bring the site of the new highway mentioned in article 3 of the order into a fit condition for use by the public.
The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert part of Footpath 17, Netherbury as shown on the order map as follows:

From the existing path:
The whole width of the path from the unaffected part of Footpath 17, south east of its junction with the D10517 Road (Oxbridge Lane) at SY 47439771, generally south east past the river and then generally south east and south to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 17 at SY 47569752. (No recorded width).
To the new path:
From the unaffected part of Footpath 17, south east of its junction with the D10517 Road (Oxbridge Lane) at SY 47439771, generally south south west to SY 47429769 and then generally south south east and south east to SY 47459763, continuing generally south east to SY 47469763 and SY 47509759 and then south east to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 17 at SY 47569752. The width of this part of Footpath 17 varies: 1.5 metres between SY 47439771, SY 47429769 and SY 47459763, 1.2 metres between SY 47459763 and SY 47469763 and 2 metres between SY 47469763, SY 47509759 and SY 47569752.

A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.
The order comes into force on 12 August 2022 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 18 August 2022, make an application to the High Court.

Part of Footpath 19, Long Bredy: The whole width of the footpath from its junction with Footpath 23, Long Bredy and the D11905 road at SY 56728944, south south west, passing through the farmyard and generally south west across a field to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 19 at SY 56578913. (No recorded width).
Part of Footpath 23, Long Bredy: The whole width of the footpath from the unaffected part of Footpath 23 at a grass track at SY 56448947, generally east across a field and passing through the farmyard to its junction with Footpath 19 and the D11905 road at SY 56728944. (No recorded width).

To the new paths:

Part of Footpath 19, Long Bredy: From its junction with the D11905 road at SY 56728941, west (via SY 56724 89415) then south west to its junction with the proposed new route of Footpath 23, Long Bredy at SY 56688939 and continuing south south west across a field to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 19 at SY 56578913. The width of this part of Footpath 19 is 2 metres. Limitations: Field gates at SY 56688939 and SY 56724 89415 to BS5709:2018.
Part of Footpath 23, Long Bredy: From the unaffected part of Footpath 23 at a grass track at SY 56448947, generally east north east and east along the track to SY 56648946, then turning south south west along a grass track to SY 56638942, crossing into a field, and continuing generally east and south east along the northern field boundary to its junction with the proposed new route of Footpath 19 at SY 56688939. The width of this part of Footpath 23 is 2 metres. Limitation: Field gate at SY 56638942 to BS5709:2018.
