(Plane Street and The Avenue, Consett) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022:

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 110 metre length of Plane Street and a 105 metre length of The Avenue, Consett. Outside of property numbers 1 to 16 Plane Street and property numbers 1 to 33 The Avenueoutside of property numbers 1 to 16 Plane Street and property numbers 1 to 33 The Avenue to enable gas main replacement works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic for the Plane Street closure - via Wear Street, Sherburn Terrace and Jyne Street. For the Avenue closure - via Wear Street and Sherburn Terrace. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 5/9/22 from 8am and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
