Somerset County Council Various Roads, Wellington in the Parishes of Stawley and Wellington Without (Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that on the 12* day of August 2022 Somerset County Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 4th day of August 2022, to introduce temporary traffic restrictions as specified in the Schedules below. This Order will come into operation on the 18th day of August 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 22nd day of August 2022 for 5 days between 21:00 hours and 06:00 hours this is to enable BT Openreach to carry out desilting & cabling works. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Greenham Quarry Road, Wellington - From the junction with Greenham Road in a south easterly direction to the junction with Thome St Margaret Road
Thome St Margaret Road, Wellington - From the junction with Gypsy Lane in a westerly direction to the junction with Greenham Quarry Road

Schedule 2 Temporary 40mph Speed Limit Greenham Quarry Road, Wellington - From the junction with Thorne St Margaret Road in a south easterly direction for a distance of 400 metres.

Statement of reasons for making the Order

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or

b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
