Gloucestershire County Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of 3/284 Wortley Road from its junction with Locombe Place to its junction with Bearlands for a distance of approximately 380 metres.
The reason for the closure is for a new water connection.

The reason for the closure is to ensure the safety of the public on the highway while emergency carriageway patching works take place. The roads are expected to be closed and restricted on a rolling programme.
The road was originally closed for 5 days by Urgent Notice commencing on the 15th August 2022. However, the works have not been completed and so it is necessary to extend the closure by an Order which can authorise the closure of the road for up to eighteen months from the date of the original Notice. It is expected that the roads will re-open on the 2nd September 2022. Alternative Route - as signed on site. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
