A24 London Road, Ewell Temporary Speed Limit Order 2022
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-
1. Prohibit vehicles from driving or proceeding in that length of A24 London Road, Ewell that extends from the north-eastern property boundary of "No.183 London Road, Ewell", to the south-eastern property boundary of "No.303 London Road, Ewell", at a speed greater than 20 MPH.
2. Suspend the "Epsom and Ewell Borough Council - The Borough of Epsom and Ewell (40 m.p.h. Speed Limit (No.1) Order 1975" insofar as affects that length of A24 London Road, Ewell described in Part 1. to this Notice that extends from the south-eastern property boundary of "No.207a London Road, Ewell", to the south-eastern property boundary of "No.303 London Road, Ewell" (where the speed limit changes to 30 MPH by virtue of street lighting), and any Speed Limit Order made or having effect as if made under Sections 82, 83 and/or 84 of the Act insofar as affects the length of A24 London Road, Ewell described in Part 1. to this Notice. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to construct pedestrian crossing points and pedestrian refuges and/or to carry out resurfacing and/or highway maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 4 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 02 September 2022. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary speed limit and suspensions described above will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The speed limit imposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 or in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police.
B284 Old Malden Lane Worcester Park Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 On 10 August 2022 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of B284 Old Malden Lane, Worcester Park that extends from the junction with D2099 Cromwell Road, to the junction with D2027 Barrow Hill. This Traffic Order is required to enable Barkemp Construction Limited to enable the installation of cats-eyes and/or kerbing and/or lining and/or surfacing and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within 3 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 August 2022. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained via the vehicular diversion route: - Cromwell Road, Grafton Road, The Avenue, Park Terrace, Malden Road and Church Road. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the roads can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
