Proposed Disabled Bays And Proposed Revocation Of Disabled Bays -Various Locations

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames propose to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 19841, as amended -
(a) The Kingston upon Thames (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*; and
(b) The Kingston upon Thames (Free Parking Places, Loading Places and Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. *) Order 202*
2. The principal objectives of the proposed Orders are; (a) to introduce disabled bays to provide a parking facility for disabled persons where a high level of parking makes reasonable means of access difficult, and (b) revoke those parking bays that are no longer required;
3. The general effect of the Orders would be to:-
(a) provide new disabled person's parking places, 6.6 metres in length, in which vehicles displaying a disabled person's badge may park at any time, at the following locations:-
(i) outside No. 15 Elm Road, New Malden;
(ii) outside No. 1a The Bungalow, Egmont Road, Surbiton;
(iii) outside No. 54 (2 wheels on the footway) and No. 111 Frimley Road, Chessington);
(iv) outside No. 6 Knollmead, Surbiton; and
(v) opposite No. 1 Willcocks Close, Chessington
(b) provide a new disabled person's parking place positioned in an echelon style 4.2 metres in length, and a width of 3.6 metres in which vehicles displaying a disabled person's badge may park at any time at the following locations:-
(i) outside No. 23 Sanger Avenue, Chessington; and
(ii) outside No. 6 Spiers Close, New Malden
(c) revoke existing disabled person's parking places at the following locations
(i) outside No. 10 Brook Road, Surbiton (revert to a permit holders only bay);
(ii) outside Nos 111 and 188 Canbury Park Road, Kingston (both revert to a permits holders only bay);
(iii) outside No. 14 Dudley Road, Kingston (revert to a permit holders only bay);
(iv) outside No. 15 Neville Road, Kingston (revert to a permit holders only bay); and
(v) outside No. 1 Porchester Road, Kingston
(d) to modify the traffic order definitions of certain other parking places and waiting restrictions so they better reflect what is currently on the ground (there would be no change to the way restrictions and parking places currently operate).
4. Copies of the proposed Orders, of the Council's Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders and plans showing the locations and the effects of the proposals may be inspected as follows:-
(a) online at

5.
