The A56 Trunk Road (Edenfield) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) has made an Order on the A56 Trunk Road, in the Borough of Rossendale, in the County of Lancashire, to enable works; to be carried out in safety.
The Order will ban all traffic from the following laybys adjacent to the A56 Trunk Road:
i. the layby adjacent to the northbound carriageway located, 435 metres north of the northbound entry slip road leading from the A56 Edenfield Roundabout;
ii. the layby adjacent to the southbound carriageway located, 1,110 metres north of the southbound exit slip road leading to the A56 Edenfield Roundabout.
The prohibitions are expected to be in place during a continuous period, subject to traffic signs, starting at 20:00 on Friday
26 August 2022 and ending at 05:00 on Thursday 13 October 2022.
However, works may start and continue during subsequent continuous periods or until completed.
The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, works, traffic officer or winter maintenance vehicles, and will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall, from time to time, be indicated by traffic signs. The Order comes into force on 25 August 2022 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. For further information contact
