The County Council of Durham (West Lane, Chester le Street) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on 10D metres of West Lane between its junctions with Front Street and Clarence Terrace, Chester le Street to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the eastern side of the closure from Front Street southerly to Front Street / Ropery Lane roundabout then north westerly via West Lane to the roundabout junction with Clarence Terrace to the western side of the closure. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence from 7.00 pm on Tuesday 30 August 2022 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be 3 nights, to 6.00 am each following morning. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
