TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 4th day of August 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1) & (2). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (3), (4), (5), (6) & (7).
(11 UNIVERSITY ROAD. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on the north-eastern side of University Road, York between a location 25 metres south-east of the roundabout controlled junction with Innovation Way and a location 50 metres northwest of the junction with Field Lane (closed footway) during the period when footway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 08 August 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 06 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(2) PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO 1/2/20. COPMANTHORPE This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Public Footpath No 1/2/20, Copmanthorpe between its junction with Fletcher's Croft and a location approximately 15 metres east of the East Coast Mainline Railway (closed footpath) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 08 August 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 19 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(31 WATER LANE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Water Lane, York between its roundabout controlled junction with Lilbourne Drive and the projected northern boundary of The Clifton Hotel public house (closed road) during the period when telecoms works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Saturday, 13 August 2022 and ending at 1900hrs on Sunday, 14 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the road will be closed between 0800hrs and 1900hrs each day. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period. A route for cyclists will be maintained through the works for the duration.
(41 GILLYGATE. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Gillygate, York between its junctions with Bootham and Portland Street (closed road) during the period when sewer maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing
at 0800hrs on Sunday, 14 August 2022 and ending at 1100hrs on Sunday, 14 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(51 HOB MOOR PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY NO. 55/37/10. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of public footpath on Hob Moor Public Right of Way No. 55/37/10, York between locations 15 metres either side of the subway under the East Coast Railway Line (closed footpath) during the period when railway improvement works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 15 August 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 02 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and cyclists will be signed during the works period.
(61 FISHERGATE. BLUE BRIDGE LANE & WILLIAM COURT. YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on Fishergate, Blue Bridge Lane & William Court, York (i) on the western side of Fishergate between the junction with Blue Bridge Lane and the projected northern boundary of property No 68 (Mecca Bingo) and (ii) on the northern side of Blue Bridge Lane between the junctions with Fishergate and William Court and (iii) on the eastern side of William Court between its junction with Blue and a location approximately 40 metres north of said junction (closed footways) during the period when demolition works are being undertaken nearby, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 15 August 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 28 October 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(71 GROSVENOR ROAD. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Grosvenor Road, York between its junction with Bootham Crescent and a location 110 metres west of said junction (closed road) during the period when demolition works are being undertaken nearby, commencing at 0700hrs on Monday, 15 August 2022 and ending at 1900hrs on Sunday, 18 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
