THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C2019 JERICHO LANE, JERICHO) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the Solfest Festival ("the Event") takes place on adjacent land and to assist in providing safer access and egress into and out of the festival field, the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any which is travelling in a north-easterly direction along the C2019 Jericho Lane, from continuing along the C2019 Jericho Lane, Jericho, at its point adjacent to its junction with the U2039.
N.B. Two-way traffic flow along the C2019 Jericho Lane, will be retained past the no entry point.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the U2039, B5301 and the unrestricted section of the C2019.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website.
The Order will come into operation on 24 August 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for from Wednesday 24 August 2022 until Tuesday 30 August 2022, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
