Proposed Order stopping up highway land at The Embankment, Water Lane, Wharf Lane and service road leading from Wharf Lane, Twickenham in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames

Notice Is Hereby Given

 that the Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames of Civic Centre of 44 York Street Twickenham TW1 3BZ ("the Council") proposes to make an order ("The Order") pursuant to section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 ("the Act") stopping up as public highway areas of land comprising parts of The Embankment, Water Lane, Wharf Lane and service road leading from Wharf Lane, Twickenham in the event that planning permission (Council planning application reference: 21/2758/FUL) is granted under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 for the development of land necessitating the said stopping up. The extent of the land subject to the proposed Order is shown on the map attached to the draft Order.
The Order will come into effect on the grant of planning permission unless objections are made to it. The effect of the Order would be that the said land ceases to be public highway.

Copies Of The Draft Order And Relevant Plan May Be Inspected Free Of Charge
during a period of 38 days commencing on 4th August 2022 at Twickenham Library, Garfield Road, Twickenham, Richmond-upon-Thames, TW1 3JT. Please see opening times below. The library will be closed on 29 August for the summer bank holiday. Twickenham Library opening hours:

The Development
Demolition of existing buildings and structures and redevelopment of the site comprising 45 residential units (Use Class C3), ground floor commercial/retail/cafe (Use Class E), public house (Sui Generis), boathouse locker storage, floating pontoon and floating ecosystems with associated landscaping, reprovision of Diamond Jubilee Gardens, alterations to highway layout and parking provision and other relevant works.
