The Isle of Wight Council’s Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders



Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -


The Isle of Wight Council (Alverstone Road, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 2100 hours and 0600 hours, on each night, from Monday 15 August 2022 until Friday 26 August 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Alverstone Road, between its junctions with Whippingham Road and a point 100 metres north-east thereof. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 2100 hours and 0600 hours, on each night, from Monday 15 August 2022 until Friday 26 August 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Beatrice Avenue, between its junctions with Whippingham Road and a point 60 metres west thereof. Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Monday 15 August 2022 until 1600 hours on Saturday 24 September 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Church Lane, between its junctions with Yelfs Road and Union Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety whilst scaffolding is in situ.

The Isle of Wight Council (Meadow End, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Sunday 14 August 2022 until 1800 hours
on Friday 19 August 2022, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Meadow End, for its entire length. There is no alternative route. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

cause any vehicle to proceed along Madeira Road from its junction with Broadway Roundabout to approximately 39 metres

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0800 hours and 1600 hours, for one shift, between Wednesday 17 August 2022 and Friday 19 August 2022, or when the works have been completed, no person shall proceed along Colmar Way Path for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during ditching works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that

between Friday 12 August 2022 and
Friday 23 November 2022
the following road will be closed for both day and night for a period of approximately two weeks within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable the next planned programme of footway resurfacing works to be completed. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads, and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road, where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include footway reconstruction, resurfacing, drainage works, verge maintenance and kerbing works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and advanced warning signs before the scheme commences.

The Isle of Wight Council (East Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 3 2022 –

East Street for its entire length. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during footway resurfacing works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 6 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that a) between 0600 hours and 1730 hours on
Sunday 14 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along Esplanade between its junctions with Battery Slip Way and Esplanade Road;
b) between 1900 hours and 2230 hours on Sunday 14 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along Culver Parade between its junctions with Avenue Road and Fort Street. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Sandown Regatta Event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Seaview, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0600 hours on Wednesday 17 August 2022 until 2330 hours on Thursday 18 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along 1) Esplanade for its entire length; 2) High Street between its junctions with Esplanade and Circular Road. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Seaview Regatta Event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic & Temporary No Waiting At Any Time) Order No 1 2022

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 1500 hours and 1730 hours on Saturday 13 August 2022, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner
A) no person shall cause any non-event related vehicle to proceed along 1) Tennyson Road between its junctions with River Road and Tennyson Close; 2) St James Street for its entire length; 3) Bridge Road between its junctions with St James Street and The Quay; 4) The Quay for its entire length; 5) Quay Street for its entire length; 6) Market Square for its entire length; 7) High Street between its junctions with Market Square and Basketts Lane; 8) Basketts Lane for its entire length; 9) Victoria Road for its entire length; 10) Station Road for its entire length; 11) Mill Road for its entire length.

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0001 hours on Saturday 13 August 2022 and 2359 hours on Sunday 14 August 2022, or when the event has finished, no person shall cause any vehicle to wait along Duver Road, on both sides, for its entire length. The restriction is required for safety during the St Helens Fort Walk.
