Northumberland County Council (Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 Mile Race 2022) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2022 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section

16A

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Northumberland County Council ("the Council), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ('the Act) and all other enabling powers, has made on the 28th July 2022 the Northumberland County Council (Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 Mile Race 2022) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2022 (the TTRO)

The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of the Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 Mile Race 2022 ("the Event') by restricting traffic on the following:

1. The C254 Ovingham to Ovington for it's entire length and the C254 Ovington Main Road through village for its entire length ("Road One");

2. The C253 Bywell to Ovington junction for its entire length ("Road Two");

3. The B6309 Stocksfield to Mowden Hall crossroads from its junction with the C253 to its junction with the C252 for 200 metres ("Road Three"); and

4. The C252 Bywell to High Barns junction for its entire length ("Road Four") (Road One, Road, Two, Road Three and Road Four will together be known as "the Roads")

The TTRO shall come into force at 9:55 hours on 21 August 2022 and will remain in force until 12:00 hours on 21 August 2022, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act. The order will be a rolling temporary restriction for the following (a) Road One between 9:55 hours to 10:15 hours; (b) Road Two between 9:50 hours and 12:00 hours; (c) Road Three between 10:10 hours to 10:25 hours; and (d) Road Four between 10:15 hours and 11:30 hours. An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being the following:
1. Alternative route for Road One is via the C255, A69, C254 and vice versa;

2. Alternative route for Road Two is via the C254, A69, B6309 and vice versa;

3. Alternative route for Road Three is via the A695, A68, A69 and vice versa; and

4. Alternative route for Road Four is via the B6309, A69, B6350 and vice versa.

All restrictions on the Roads will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for
as long as is necessary.
Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on the Roads related to the organisation and holding of the Event;

b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer or a Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.

c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;

d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto the Roads); or

e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining the Roads.
