Oxfordshire County Council

(Coleshill Parish) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 20

**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in order to help improve road safety on local roads following concerns raised by the Parish Council - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit throughout Coleshill, replacing the existing 30mph speed limits in their entirety, leading out to the following points:
1. B4019 (Faringdon' to Highworth road): Eastern end - a point 166 metres north-east of School Lane, Western end - a point 11 metres south-west of the centre of Coleshill bridge.

2. School Lane - to its junction with Snowswick Lane,

3. Snowswick Lane - to a point 15 metres north of its junction with School Lane.

Additionally, to support the introduction of the lower limit a new kerbed traffic calming chicane will be constructed on the B4019 (Faringdon to Highworth road), with buildouts to be located:
* South side (westbound) - approx. 24 metres west of the access to 'The Clock House',

* North side (east bound) - approx. 41 metres west of the access to 'The Clock House'.

* Each chicane will be approx. 7.6m long, and 1.3m wide, reducing the width of the carriageway to 3.2m,

* Traffic travelling west into the village will be required to give-way, with priority given to traffic exiting the village travelling east.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Coleshill Parish) (Restricted Roads) Order 2000 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.
