Natland Mill Beck Lane, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (U5624 Natland Mill Beck Lane, Kendal) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Fibrus to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U5624 Natland Mill Beck Lane, Kendal, from its junction with Burton Road to its junction with Natland Road.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the A65 Burton Road and the C5071 Natland Road.
To allow access/egress to and from Natland Mill Beck Lane for residents, emergency service vehicles, refuse collection vehicles and vehicles connected to the Works, the existing Prohibition of Driving restriction on that section of Natland Mill Beck Lane from its junction with Natland Road to its junction with Burton Road and the 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight restriction on Natland Mill Bridge situated on Natland Mill Beck Lane, is hereby temporarily suspended for the duration of the Works.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates and in respect of the closure of Natland Mill Beck Lane shall:

1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 10 August 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 13 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
