NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

(Footpath BW16/18 (part) In the Parish of Nether Stowey)
Public Path Diversion Order, 2019


On 8 July 2022 Somerset County Council confirmed the above named Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert: Part of public footpath BW 16/18 starting from OS Grid Reference ST 20621 39386 (point A on the order plan) and running in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 510 metres to point B. To a route which starts from OS Grid Reference ST 20621 39386 (point A on the order plan) and runs in a generally east south easterly direction for approximately 35 metres to point X and then in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 54 metres to point Y and then in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 20 metres to point C. The path then runs in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 380 metres to point B. The width is 2 metres apart from the section over the footbridge between points Z and C which is 1 metre.

A copy of the order and the order plan have been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment (Tel: 01823 355 644) at Somerset County Council, County Hall, The Crescent, Taunton, TA1 4DY from 9am until 3pm Monday to Friday. The Order will come into force on 2 September 2022, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 8 July 2022, make an application to the High Court.
