PUBLIC PATH NOTICE PART OF BRIDLEWAY 407021, GILLERTHWAITE, ENNERDALE & KINNISIDE PARISH
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2022


NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order.
The effect of the order will be to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over part of Bridleway 407021 at Gillerthwaite, Ennerdale Forest, Ennerdale & Kinniside between NY 1310 1427 and NY 1409 1413, to enable felling and extraction of timber.
The identical Order that ran from January to July 2022 was never activated, and the path never actually closed. The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at Copeland Borough Council, The Market Hall, Whitehaven, CA28 7JG; and at Cleator Moor Post Office, Cleator Moor Post Office, Cumbrian Co-Op Store, 76 Leconfield Street, Cleator Moor, Cumbria, CA25 5PX; and online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/ rowclosures.

The new order will take effect on 26 August 2022 and will continue in force for six months, but the work is expected to only take two months, as and when the signs are displayed. When works are taking place, signs will be erected showing the closed path and the alternative route(s). The path will be accessible as normal other than on these days. If the works have not been completed it may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
