A64 Trunk Road, Temporary Traffic Restrictions

THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (YORK STADIUM)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the County of North Yorkshire, to enable installation of tourist sign works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Wednesday 10 August 2022 for 4 months, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, between 8pm and 6am, to:
(i) Impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound carriageway from the entry slip road at Grimston Bar Interchange to the entry slip road at Hopgrove Roundabout entry slip road, a distance of 2700 metres;
(ii) Impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Bilbrough Top to the exit slip road at Askham Bryan Interchange, a distance of 2500 metres;
(iii) the layby situated adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway approximately 1650 and 2000 metres east of Grimston Bar Interchange;
(iv) ban traffic from entering or proceeding in the unnamed side road adjacent to the A64 eastbound carriageway 1700 and 200 metres east of Bilbrough Top.
During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic management will be in operation and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance). The Order comes into force on 9 August 2022 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
