TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Sections 14(1) & 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 28th day of July 2022 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2) & (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4) & (5).
(1) AGAR STREET. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Agar Street, York between its junction with Monkgate and the projected north-western boundary of property No. 1a (closed road) during the period when water mains maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 01 August 2022 and ending at 1800hrs on Monday, 01 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely.
(2) MILLFIELD LANE LEVEL CROSSING. NETHER POPPLETON
This Order prohibits vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Millfield Lane Level Crossing, Nether Poppleton between locations 20 metres either side of said level crossing (closed road) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 2200hrs on Friday, 05 August 2022 and ending at 0800hrs on Monday, 15 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period. Vehicular access to Millfield Lane has been arranged via the ANPR camera-controlled section in Low Poppleton Lane, without penalty, for the duration of the works period only. Pedestrians will be allowed to cross the level crossing during the daytime with the assistance of on-site marshals only.
(3) FEASEGATE. YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in that length of road on Feasegate, York between its junction with St Sampson's Square and a location 25 metres southwest of said junction (closed road) during the period when building maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 1900hrs on Sunday, 31 July 2022 and ending at 2200hrs on Sunday, 31 July 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in Feasegate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(4) UNIVERSITY ROAD. YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footway on the north-eastern side of University Road, York between a location 25 metres south-east of the roundabout controlled junction with Innovation Way and a location 50 metres northwest of the junction with Field Lane (closed footway) during the period when footway resurfacing works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0800hrs on Monday, 08 August 2022 and ending at 1700hrs on Tuesday, 06 September 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians will be signed during the works period.
(5) PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO 1/2/20. COPMANTHORPE
This Order will prohibit vehicles & pedestrians from proceeding and waiting in that length of footpath on Public Footpath No 1/2/20, Copmanthorpe between its junction with Fletcher's Croft and a location approximately 15 metres east of the East Coast Mainline Railway (closed footpath) during the period when railway maintenance works are being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001 hrs on Monday, 08 August 2022 and ending at 2359hrs on Friday, 19 August 2022 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
