Section 14 - The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Notice Of Traffic Orders For Temporary Road, Footway And Subway Closures/Restrictions

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL made the following temporary orders:
(STR000370, Station Road, Chiseldon) This Order is being introduced to allow for structural works to the carriageway and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Station Road between the junctions with High Street and Castle View Road. Traffic to be diverted via Station Road, B4005 New Road, High Street and vice versa. The Order will come into force on the 15 August 2022 for 6 months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place on the 15 to 17 August 2022 only. (STR000372 Draycot Close, Draycot Foliat) This Order is being introduced to allow for Thames Water works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Draycot Close. Traffic to be diverted via Copse Drove at Ogbourne St George, Castle Street, Aldbourne, B4192 West Street to Liddington Warren, The Ridgeway and vice versa. The Order will come into force on the 25 August 2022 for 6 months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place on the 25 to 27 August 2022 only. (STR000379 Marlowe Avenue and Greenbridge Subway) This Order is being introduced to allow for refurbishment works and will prohibit pedestrians and cyclist from using the footpath leading to/from and including Marlowe Avenue and Greenbridge Subways. Pedestrians for Marlowe Avenue Subway directed to use the crossing on Drakes Way and pedestrians for Greenbridge Subway directed to use crossings on Bridge End Road, Swindon Road and Grange Drive. The Order will come into force on the 8 August 2022 for 6 months but it is anticipated the subway closures will only be required for 1 month until the 9 September 2022. (STR000381 St Margarets Road) This Order is being introduced to allow works for a footway improvement scheme and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding on the footway and vehicles from parking on St Margarets as indicated by signs. Works to be phased allowing the footway and parking to be available on other side of the road. The Order will come into force on the 22 August 2022 for 18 months but it is anticipated that during works will take over 3 weeks only from the start date.

Traffic to be diverted via A3102, B4006 and B4289 Great Western Way. The Order will come into force on the 1 August 2022 for 6 months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place between the

A361 Highworth Road and B4006 Ermin Street. The Order
will come into force on the 15 August 2022 for 6 months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place between the 15 August to 2 September 2022. (STR000406, Queens Drive) This Order is being introduced to allow implementation of a pedestrian crossing and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the A4259 Queens Drive between Windsor Road and Whitbourne Avenue. Traffic to be diverted via A4312 Drakes Way, Oxford Road, White Hart Junction, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road and Queens Drive. The works may be subject to suspension of the bus lane on Queens Drive between Whitbourne Drive and New College Drive (eastbound) and 20mph speed limit which will be notified in advance if required. The Order will come into force on the 1 August 2022 for 12 months but it is expected the road closure will be implemented late September under overnight or evening hours only as/when required. (STR000144 Wanborough PROW) This Order is being introduced for highway improvement works and will prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following footpaths: PROW footpath WA8 to be closed between PROW footpath WA7 and The Marsh - no alternative route available PROW footpath WA22 to be closed between PROW footpath WA8 and the A419 - no alternative route available. PROW footpath WA24 to be closed between PROW footpath WA43 and The Marsh - no alternative route available. PROW footpath WA25 to be closed between PROW footpath WA23 and Wanborough Road - pedestrians to be diverted via PROW footpath WA23, Wanborough Road and PROW WA35. The Order will come into force on the 1 August 2022 for 6 months.
