Cumbria, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (C20I3 SALTA ROAD, C20I8 EDDERSIDE ROAD, B5300 BECKFOOT AND DUBMILL POINT, NEAR MAWBRAY) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out works for the establishment of the England coastal path ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
1. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
(i) C2013 Salta Road, from its junction with the B5300, extending in a north easterly direction for approx 102 metres; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2013, and the B5300. (Ref: AL22-366).
(ii) C2018, Edderside Road, from its junction with the B5300, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 87 metres; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2018, the B5301, C2013 and the B5300.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
2. Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour along the following lengths of road:
(i) B5300, Beckfoot from a point approx. 794 metres north of its junction with the U2033, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 365 metres (Ref: AL22-368); and
(ii) B5300 Dubmill Point, from a point approx. 875 metres south of its junction with the C2013 Mawbray, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 2 kilometres

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
a) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties;
b) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
c) Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
d) Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works for the restrictions detailed in 1(i) and 1(ii) above.
e) Apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations for the restrictions detailed in 2(i) and 2(ii) above.

The Order will come into operation on 15 August 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will be required for 3 months and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
