The Wandsworth (Church Lane) Sw17 (Temporary Restriction Of Traffic) Order 2022

WHEREAS the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth ("the Council") being the Highway Authority for Church Lane, is satisfied that traffic on the said roads in the said London Borough should be restricted to facilitating the holding of a procession.

NOW THEREFORE, the Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(a) and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order: -

1. This Order shall come into operation on 8th August 2022 and may be cited as The Wandsworth (Church Lane) (Temporary Restriction of Traffic) Order 2022.

2. Whilst the said event is taking place, no vehicle shall enter, proceed or wait along Church Lane from the junction with Mitcham Road to the junction with Gassiot Road. No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed on Eswyn Road from the junction with Vant Road to the junction with Church Lane.

3. Nothing in Article 2 above shall apply to anything done: -

(a) with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform or a person authorised by the Council; or

(b) by any person using a vehicle for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposed or by the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency; or

(c) by any person associated with the Event.

4. The order will come into operation on 8" August 2022 and will remain in place until the events are complete. The order will remain in place for no longer than 18 months, although the event is expected to be complete by 10th August 2022.
