(A691 Durham Road and Bright Street, Consett) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road in Consett: A691 Durham Road in a westerly direction only from A691 Medomsley Road, Durham Road, Villa Real Road roundabout for a distance of 70 metres Bright Street - a 25 metre length that extends westerly from Medomsley Road, Consett to enable gas main renewal works to be undertaken. Alternative route from the eastern side of the restriction heading southerly on Medomsley Road then A. west on Trafalgar Street, north west on Victoria Road, north on Bertha Street north west on Park Road and north on Laburnum Avenue to Durham Road to the western side of the restriction B. west on Chartwell Place, north on Morley Gardens to Bright Street and the western side of the restriction and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 15/8/22 and are anticipated to be completed in 3 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
