Temporary Traffic Management Order
Tarrant Hinton & The Tarrant Valley Area (for great dorset steam fair)


DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of the Great Dorset Steam Fair [the Event] and reduce the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the Event. The Order will come into effect at 00.01hrs on Monday 22 August 2022 and will be in force until 23.59hrs on Tuesday 30 August 2022.

The following traffic restrictions will be introduced:
1 a 40-mph speed limit wil be imposed on the A354 from Collingwood Corner north eastward to Turnpike Cottage, a distance of approximately 3.25 kilometres;
2 all vehicles will be prohibited from overtaking any other moving vehicle, with the exception of a pedal cycle, on the A354 from Collingwood Corner north eastward to Turnpike Cottage, a distance of approximately 3.25 kilometres;
3 a 30-mph speed limit will be imposed on the C25 (Valley Road) from Tarranthead, Stubhampton southward to Bussy Stool Road, Tarrant Gunville, a distance of approximately 1.3 metres;
4 a 30-mph speed limit will be imposed on the C25 (Valley Road) from its junction with the A354 southward to Guppys Cottage, Tarrant Monkton, a distance of approximately 2.8 kilometres.

Temporary Closure of Highfield Road, Corfe Mullen

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along HIGHFIELD ROAD, CORFE MULLEN between the junctions of and where the road meets with Albert Road and Springdale Road, a distance of approximately 250 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 8 August 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 26 August 2022.
This Order will enable JDT Utilities agent for SGN, safe access to lay a new gas main in the highway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using: Springdale Road - Ivor Road -Albert - Road.
