Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 1, Bridport

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic [Temporary Restrictions] Act 1991. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along FOOTPATH W1/1, from grid reference SY 463 933 to grid reference SY 464 932, a distance of approximately 180 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 August 2022 for a period of 6 months, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This closure is required to allow the Environment Agency to repair a section of the River Brit flood bank.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE; Head south along St Swithins Road to the bridge at SY463931. From here, cross the bridge and proceed southeast to re-join footpath W1/1. The reverse route applies.

Temporary Closure of Higher Street, Loders

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along HIGHER STREET, LODERS between the entrance to Hole House Farm and a point approximately 100 metres east. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 01 August 2022 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12 August 2022. This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to install a new water main.
An alternative route will be signed using; C68 - A35 - A3066 - Townsend Way.
