Brampton Road, Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (B6264 Brampton Road, Carlisle, UIII3 Beaumont To Monkhill, U1141 Raughton Head And C1030 Hethersgill) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

1. B6264 Brampton Road, Carlisle, from its junction Well Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 465m; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Brampton Road, B6264, A689 and A7 Kingstown Road and Scotland Road. Duration: From 25 July 2022 for approx. 12 days (ref: CA-22-26)

2. U1113 Beaumont to Monkhill, from its junction with the C2042 at Monkhill, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 810m;
Alternative Route: via the U1111 and the C2042.
Duration: From 25 July 2022 for approx. 5 days (ref: CA-22-56)

3. U1141 Raughton Head, from its junction with the C2049, extending in an overall southerly direction for approx. 730m; Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1141 and
Duration: From 25 July 2022 for approx. 5 days (ref: CA-22-57)

4. C1030 Hethersgill, from its junction with the A6071, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 4.3km; Alternative Route: via the A6071 and C1012 Smithfield.
Duration: From 25 July 2022 for approx. I2 days (ref: CA-22-58)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email

The Order will come into operation on 25 July 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
