(Various Roads, Maldon) (20mph Speed Limit) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above permanent order under sections 82(2), 83(2), 84(1) and (2), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To Introduce a 20mph Speed Limit on the following lengths of road in the District of Maldon. The roads below had a temporary 20mph speed applied as part of the initial response to the Covid-19 pandemic and it is considered appropriate to make these permanent to promote active travel and encourage sustainable forms of transport.

High Street, Maldon
From a point 14 metres northeast from the junction of West Square and High Street in an easterly direction for a distance of 523 metres to the junction with North Street.
Market Hill, Maldon
From the junction with High Street for its entire length in a northerly direction to the junction with Fullbridge.
Fullbridge, Maldon
From a point 8 metres northeast of the northeast kerbline of Mill Lane for its entire length in a south westerly direction to its junction with Market Hill.
Mill Lane, Maldon
From its junction with Fullbridge for its entire length in a north westerly direction.
Cromwell Lane, Maldon
From its junction with Market Hill for entire length in a north westerly direction.
Old Mill Close, Maldon
From its the junction with High Street in a northerly direction for its entire length.
Edward Bright Close, Maldon
From its junction with High Street in a northerly direction for its entire length.
Fullbridge Quay, Maldon
From its junction with Market Hill in an easterly direction to its junction with Chandlers Quay and Anchorage Hill its entire length.
Chandlers Quay, Maldon
From its junction with Anchorage Hill in an easterly direction for its entire length.
Anchorage Hill, Maldon
From the junction with Fullbridge Quay in a southerly direction for its entire length.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 14 July 2022.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Grange Road, Wickham Bishops) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Grange Road, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Roots Lane to both of its junctions with School Road a distance of approximately 210m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th August 2022 for 26 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001147053 -Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent. An alternative route is available via Roots Lane, Blacksmiths Lane, Arbour Lane, Grange Road, School Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th July 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
(Steeple Road, Southminster) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Steeple Road, Southminster in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Steeple Meadows for a distance of approximately 340m in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th August 2022 for 31 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231006407 - David Wilson Homes). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while road realignment works are undertaken on behalf of David Wilson Home. An alternative route is available via Steeple Road, Queen Street, Pantile Hill, High Street, North Street, North End, Cripplegate, Tillingham Road, Southminster Road, Green Lane, Foxhall Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 28th July 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Haag Hill, Cold Norton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Haag Hill, Cold Norton in the District of Maldon, from both of its junctions with Hackmans Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st August 2022 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013204681 -Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water
An alternative route is available via Stow Road, Hackmans Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 14th July 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Larch Walk, Heybridge) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Larch Walk, Heybridge in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 135m east of its junction with Rowan Drive for a distance of approximately 20m in an easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st August 2022 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30008174453 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks. No diversion is available for this closure.
The Order came into effect on 14th July 2022 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
